Dance FAQs
Dance Format?
Our dances are casual events featuring music, refreshments, theme dress, and square dancing at the mainstream and plus levels, alternating each tip.
We also enjoy round dancing during the evening, which is a form of ballroom dancing choreographed by a cuer.
Can beginners attend?
Dances are specifically for those who have completed a mainstream square dance class and have a name badge issued by their home club. This ensures that dances are fun for all who attend.
Beginners are welcomed at our Thursday night classes to learn square dance steps and protocols.
What is the social fee?
Regular club dances are $12 per person to cover hall rental and refreshments. Classes are $10 per person. First-time guests can attend their first class for free!
Do I need to bring food?
No. Our dance hosts provide drinks and light refreshments for the evening.
What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes and casual attire work great! Theme nights feature fun dress-up options, but casual dress or traditional western wear is optional.
Where are dances held?
Our dances take place monthly at Riviera Methodist Church. Parking is in the rear lot. The dance takes place in the downstairs church hall. Check our calendar for upcoming dates, theme dress, and times.
Social Gatherings
Our community thrives on friendly gatherings! From class nights to theme dances to potluck socials, we bring people together for laughter, movement, and friendship.
"Class nights are so enriching. I have made new friends while I exercise my body and mind. The angel dancers are so friendly and helpful, even when I am a slow learner!"
"Great music, friendly dancers, and amazing potlucks! The theme nights bring so much energy to square dancing. You don't even need a partner to show up and have a blast."
